ValdecarábanosOn the hills of Huerta de Valdecarábanos in Toledo there is a large photovoltaic installation: 160 solar trackers of 7.5 kW make up the 1200 kW of the “Valdecarábanos solar farm”, which is the property of 111 owners.
This project has been completely developed and implemented by Generalia. Generalia is currently responsible for the maintenance management of the farm.

Installation on solar trackers160 solar trackers allow the maximum amount of solar radiation to be captured. Solar tracking is carried out through calculated coordinates, with a tracking algorithm developed by Generalia that ensures maximum solar absorption.
Solar tracking is controlled by a PLC that uses a position sensor to constantly monitor the direction of the tracker and compares it with the ideal position for maximum solar gain.
The system guarantees an accuracy of around 2º. The unit has been developed by GENERALIA DEVELOPMENTS, a company in the Generalia group. |

Centralised monitoring of the production and incidencesEach tracker reports the incidences that take place to the central computer through a wireless system; the central computer processes the information of all the trackers and displays this information in a control panel. For example, the system could detect if a unit has produced less energy in the last 10 minutes than the one next to it. This allows very short reaction times for the plant operator.

Weather station connected to the central computerA weather station constantly sends the meteorological data to the central computer. This system allows orders to be passed from the central computer to the 160 trackers in order to change their position and to improve their resistance to the wind, for example.

Integrated video surveillance and anti-theft sensors in each trackerThe three lighting towers and video surveillance connected to the central computer, as well as to the alarm monitoring station contracted by Generalia, offer the highest level of security which is monitored 24 hours a day. Each tracker also has a volumetric sensor that is connected via wireless to the central computer of the site. If the volumetric sensor is activated, the alarm signal arrives at the central computer, which establishes the corresponding connection with the alarm monitoring station.
